The Golden Touch – Interiors Dripping In Gold

Gold has long-since been desired for interiors all over the world and is suitable for any theme of décor. Read on to discover exactly why the world of 2020 interiors is gold-obsessed, and how you can get the look for your home or business.

We got our inspiration for this blog from the legend of Midas, the king of Phrygia in Greek Mythology. In return for a good deed, he was granted one wish by the god Dionysus and asked for the power to turn everything he touched into gold. Unlike Midas, we are not quite so greedy or excessive, but we do appreciate a touch of gold in interiors.

There is something about metallics in our homes that instantly adds a touch of glamour and luxury, to even the humblest of homes. Whether it’s on trend rose gold, brass or copper, they all offer a physical and visual attractiveness to our spaces. Metallics will never go out of style, regardless of the latest fad or trend to make waves in the world of interior design. The bottom line is that it’s all down to personal taste, style and, hopefully, a bit of both.

Gold Interior Design

Don’t forget your bedroom in the metallic makeover – soft brass elements can turn up the temperature of any coloured bedroom, making it ready for any vibe you wish to set. The most versatile and easiest way to add a bit of gold sparkle to your bedroom is to accessorise with sequined or printed cushions, bold photo frames, luxurious bedspreads and vintage or retro in copper or brass lights. Clear glass pendants are a great, space-saving idea if you want to avoid adding bulk to the bedside table and still have a hint of gold for a unique touch.

In the 20th century, brass fixtures and details were all over vogue. You may perhaps associate brass with your grandmother’s antique collection; pieces from another era that belonged in the loft. But we can’t be the first to tell you that today, brass is no longer considered old-fashioned and stuffy. In fact, far from it, with smooth, sleek finishes that shine, brass has become the material of the moment when it comes to home décor and interiors.

Although brass can be seen in spaces ranging from bathrooms to bedrooms, the material really looks its best when it’s as a spotlight in a kitchen. Deck out your kitchen in brass from cabinet handles to pendant lights. Offset against grey, blue or black to give your space the ultimate sophistication.

A variety of products, including shower heads and kitchen taps, once dominated by nickel and chrome are being replaced by the more colourful finish of brass. A mixture of brass and other warm-toned, metallic products will add warmth and atmosphere to the room.

Make sure you purchase high-quality brass accessories as these will not wear and are likely to last significantly longer, especially when it comes to bathroom decor. High-quality lights made of raw materials do not only give a premium look but also last making your interiors look stunning for years to come.

Rose Gold Inspiration Ideas

If you are incorporating more than just a touch of gold, it’s important to keep an aesthetic balance. We would suggest keeping the rest of the colour scheme neutral or monotoned to give emphasis on the gold touches and maintain interior harmony. The beauty of copper lies in its ability to present itself in many forms, colours and finishes. It can be used to add warmth and interest to any style of kitchen, from modern to traditional and everything in between.

Mixing metallics used to be a dangerous game played only by the brave, but it is now considered unique, bold and a must have if you want to stand out from the crowd.

Not only does a clever cocktail of metallics draw attention to the beauty of the lights, it also channels somewhat of a daring attitude. So, with that in mind, don’t let your metallics become just another neutral – draw attention to them in the most stylish way with this inspiring metallic decor idea. In other words, don’t be afraid to show off your metal.

Natural Gold Interior Decor

Combining gold in your interior whether brass or rose gold touches like copper do not always have to mean glam, subtle tones of hidden metallics can have a more natural earthy feel. Accompanied by unfinished walls and raw materials can give an artistic character to your interior. Toned down gold finishes work really well amidst rustic settings and will add an element of luxury to any interior. Natural materials such as wood and greenery will work particularly well in conjunction with natural gold finishes for a room to remember.
