Project Desco & Commercial Wine Bar Ideas

Here at Industville, we love working together with fantastic businesses all over the world and provide the perfect industrial light fixtures and retro bar stools for their interior. Below, we delve a little deeper into the experiences of a Sicilian wine bar we worked with recently, along with some of the best commercial wine bar ideas for your home or business.

The front of wine bar, Italy

We were overjoyed to be approached by Desco, a wine bar nestled in a quaint square in the historic centre of Alcamo – a small city in the west of Sicily. Here, where fine wines and culinary delights are available in abundance, and you can taste the exquisite wines from local vineyards. Desco includes an authentic Tuscan influence, as the owners themselves comes from Tuscany.

The ground floor of the elegant wine bar consists of a café made from “Carrara” marble, and a living room with wood shelves and copper vintage real leather and metal adjustable stool. The space is characterised by wire mesh, various metallics and our retro glass pendants.

The bathroom pops with colour and contrast, dressed with red resin, black facilities and an industrial cage bulkhead wall light sconce with glass. The outside space is designed as a small aromatic garden, made of wood and featuring big vases with aromatic plants for optimum atmosphere.

So how do you go about creating the perfect wine bar for your business? Or how can you capture the vibe for an area of your home? Creating an atmospheric space that is elegant, decorative and practical is no easy fate, and involves a lot more thought and detail than scattering some table and chairs. Below, we’ve listed just some tips and tricks to make the most of your wine bar, or how you can bring a taste of Italy to your own home.

It’s All in The Space

Whether you’re working with a large, expansive area or a tiny, cosy corner; it’s important for wine bars to feel spacious, airy and relaxed. One of the best ways to accomplish this, is through tall, linear furniture, that can appear to be taking up less space than they are. Here at Industville, we have a range of retro bar stools that are perfect for achieving such an effect.

Go Bold

Whether it’s with loud tropical prints or statement, block colour contrasts; being bold with the colour choices for your interiors has never been more on trend. Bright walls with black industrial wall lights and pendants will create a calming contrast, while you can add tones of metallic for a slightly more modern vibe.

Authentic Products

This style is grand and the success of your project can and will be determined based on the raw quality and authenticity of the products you choose. Accessories and furnishings all play a part in creating the overall tone and characteristic for your establishment or home, and it’s integral not to cut any corners in this sense. Our extensive collection of lighting products and retro stools are all handcrafted for maximum quality and are made from only the finest of materials. Each is available in high volumes at very competitive prices, ensuring you can have the best of both worlds and keep your projects looking their best!

Comfort and Functionality Over Everything

The core being of a wine bar, be it at home or in an establishment, is to create a comfortable, relaxing environment that makes retiring to bed even more difficult. Whilst we can’t provide the locally-sourced wine from the romantic, rolling vineyards quite like our friends from Desco, we do have comfortable stools made from real leather, along with atmospheric lights for the perfect dining environment.

  • Love it. What are the lights on the beams though as this is what I need for my home – I am assuming they can be angled?
