What IP Rating Do Bathroom Light Fixtures Need?
IP stands for ingress protection, indicating the protection level against liquids and solids. The first number stands for intrusion protection (solids), and the second number stands for moisture protection (liquids). Regarding the IP rating of lights, there are three main standard ratings; IP20, IP44 and IP65. The IP rating you need will be determined by which bathroom zone you want to install the lights into.
Zone 3 - all Industville lights are suitable
Zone 2 - The area stretching 0.6m outside the perimeter of the bath and to a height of 2.25m from the floor. In addition to the area around a wash basin, within a 60cm radius of any tap. In this zone, an IP rating of at least IP44 is required. See all IP44 lights
Zones 1 - IP65 lights are suitable for installation within these areas.
Zones 0 - None of our lights are suitable for this zone.
