Dressing room & wardrobes ✔️ IKEA PAX hack
We used a temporary clothes rail for over a year, it definitely felt good filling these 🙌
To best utilise this space we had to move the 2 doors and window 🪟 We took the opportunity to install a bigger window and move the ensuit door over to improve the new bathroom layout 👌
Steps:
1) Build base frame
2) Design and install PAX wardrobes
3) Make and hang custom made doors
4) Prime and paint to suit (We are yet to paint...)
5) Select and fit handles (Our next job)

"Before & After Transformations" a project that focuses on turning small spaces into a tranquil oasis. 🏡
One of my personal favourites is a bathroom renovation where the client wanted a space for relaxation while still maintaining the Japandi style of the home. The renovation involved incorporating lightly textured pebbles and a faux plant feature wall to bring the bathroom to life. It wasn't just a renovation; it was a lifestyle upgrade. 🛁

just had to show you my gorgeous dressing room lights from @industville i am so in love with them! 😍😍 they've really given my dressing room a much more luxury feel!
still to plaster some holes in the wall in here, and another coat of paint is needed as the old grey paint is still showing through, but all in good time.
can't wait to show you the end result!

Bathroom stills, before and after for lots asking about design details too. (This room was mostly left to the professionals) Some bits still left to finish, but the old grey shower room has had its glow up. 🌟
The shower was converted into a shower over bath, which involved demo work on that wall to bring in more space. That also meant removing a chimney breast in the room behind to make it all work. The window was replaced too.
The room felt so small and cramped before, so this was all about making the room feel big and airy, while also retaining warmth. So the older style tiles tiles and their colour tones went a long way, as well as bringing in the warmth of real wood textures and brass fittings.
Traditional vanity units felt too bulky, so I upcycled an old table to house the sink, which has worked brilliantly and the covered baskets below it still give storage.
The beautiful sink was hand made by the excellent potter thrown_by_jok She spent so much time and care over it, I highly recommend!
The toilet is wall hung to keep all the lines sleek, so there’s a built out stud wall behind it to house the cistern. That allowed me to incorporate more usable space, with the long wooden shelf running the length of the room. Another easy DIY, with a plank of timber, sanded and varnished.
On the opposite side, there’s a shower niche and also a shelf and hooks at the end of the bath for yet more useable space.
I had also considered a pocket door to help on space, but it proved more tricky than it would have been worth on several fronts, so I didn’t bother.
So now, it’s still a small bathroom, but it’s a mighty one too!

bathroom update;
4 years ago i decided to start renovating this room...i chipped the tiles off the wall and we ordered a new bath and sink. i painted the walls dark and then nothing happened for 4 years 🤦🏼♀️.
however recently we’ve pulled our finger out and made it a slightly nicer space! i’ve gone for a lovely soft beige colour and painted the cladded walls to match. i also made some art for the walls 🐚

i still have tiles to order...i’ve picked them, just can’t bring myself to click the order button as they want £70 for delivery! when the tiles only cost £230 that seems crazy....or am i just being really cheap? i’ll share them on stories...

Happy Friday! I've been busy completing the en-suite design for the house in East Keswick this week. If bathroom space is limited, opt for a wall-hung basin and toilet - the more of the floor you can see, the bigger the space will feel. In the Edwardian terrace project, we chose the ikeauk vanity unit which has plenty of storage. The walls are in Palm Night by duluxuk and the tiles give a vintage feel, contrasting with the contemporary style of the vanity unit.

A post I read yesterday made me realise that Instagram is such a wonderful way of connecting but can also make us feel so inadequate, comparing our homes and our lives to some of the perfect pictures we see painted on here. So I feel compelled to point out that my house is only ever tidy for guests or photos - and even then, open the wrong cupboard and you’re likely to be buried under an avalanche of junk!
Christmas is a stressful enough time for most of us, without the added pressure of trying to live up to social media expectations - the crafts and baking with our kids, the matching pyjamas and fireside cocoa. I’m as guilty as anyone of sharing all the good stuff but let me tell you, the crafts usually end in tears, the baking Ieaves my kitchen like a bomb site (and me in a grump!) and the hot chocolate usually gets spilt, resulting in an argument!

I wanted to share a close-up of this gorgeous mini tree that I was lucky enough to be sent from prestigeflowers - they haven’t asked me to post but I thought it was such a lovely alternative to sending flowers this Christmas. It comes flat-packed through the letterbox, complete with soil, moss, star lights and decorations and would be perfect for anyone without the space for a larger tree 🤍
