Sunshine on a winters morning 😍 puts a spring in my step.
Being able to enjoy the morning sunshine in our kitchen is a whole new experience for us. Knocking a wall down has totally transformed our home and we did it for the light. Later in the year we will also get the evening sun so watch this space 👀
Today has been beautiful and I obviously needed that dose of vitamin D 🌞. The dog and I have been exploring our local haunts at lunchtimes to see what damage the latest storms have brought. There are so many trees down and paths to be cleared. I got a bit sad about it but then thought how this brings new opportunities for the forests. New growth, changing habitats and renewal.

at the end of june this year, we started digging to extend our house. the plan was to go out to the edge of the boundary, connect to what was my office, and turn the new space into a new kitchen.
we then extended further onto what was our old garage, which is now our utility room, and will be our downstairs loo.
our old kitchen, is going to be my office, whenever i get round to it...
there are so many people to thank, some i have on socials, some i don’t—so to keep it sweet, if you’re looking at the pictures and can say “i did that”, we are so grateful for your time.
i think we can safely say, this is our forever home.
still need to join the worktops on the peninsular, cut the sink out, fit the tap and top oil the worktops—but yeah, so relieved it’s almost, almost done.

Im not joking when I say it took me 2 weeks to find my Christmas tree because it was in the roof of the garage. I cant wait to have a few more rooms done so everything can have a proper home again.
Anyway, what do you think of my chimney hood garland as I dont have a fireplace or mantel... is it a vibe or have I lost the plot??? Also, these are my £6 sainsburys garlands! ??
