A Touch Of Glass: The New Retro Lighting Trend

A Touch Of Glass: The New Retro Lighting Trend

The industrial trend has always been about utilising a neutral colour palette and rustic finishes, however, we’re seeing the vintage industrial trend returning in a new way. Rather than the common industrial style, we’re seeing a shift towards the sleeker side, with varying metallic tones and making use of the old vintage charm, blending contemporary with modern for a unique and truly mesmerising interior.

Here at Industville, we are advocates of channelling new trends, and we cannot get enough of the new industrial trend! Glass lighting is the perfect way to channel this style, with trios of pendants in kitchens to stunning wall lights in bedrooms. We have an extensive range of glass lighting fixtures which allows you to bring a touch of new vintage into your interiors. We’re going to explore this new trend in more detail throughout this blog to give you all the inspiration you need!

Go Handcrafted

By opting for handcrafted lights, they’re not only of higher quality, but attention to detail has been paid more attention to. You know when buying a handcrafted product that it’s unique, allowing you to create a unique and characterful interior. All of our lights are uniquely handcrafted with high-quality materials allowing you to create interiors which are unique to you.

Warm Up With Retro Bulbs

Industrial chic focuses on utilising raw materials and contemporary colours, therefore; at times can feel impersonal and cold. The perfect way to combat this is by incorporating vintage filament bulbs in order to warm up your décor, the modern technology paired with the traditional design makes them the perfect way to incorporate the vintage style into every aspect of your interior! LED filament bulbs not only look beautifully stylish, but they last longer and consume less energy, making it a win-win!

Contrast With Black Or White

Going back to basics with contemporary colours can create a stunning yet dramatic décor. By either using black or white or a combination of both, they add depth and character to the décor. If your interior is mostly focused towards a light colour palette then opting for dark accessories adds a dramatic and mysterious feel. Like the bathroom interior below, contrasting the cleanness of white with dramatic blacks creates a stunning and characterful décor.

If your interior mostly focuses on a dark colour palette, then you want to feature a pop of colour which will contrast beautifully against the mysterious tones, such as incorporating brass or copper lights to add something eye-catching.

Think Natural

Organic hues such as browns and greys create a connection with the outdoors and incorporate a breath of fresh air into interiors. Opting for these tones allow you to create a calm space while putting the focus on decorative features, such as cushions, throws and lighting. A trio of our glass wall lights looks seamless working against these plush grey tones, putting the focus on the decorative items while casting the perfect amount of light.

Go For A Modern Twist

Chandeliers become the focal point in the room they’re placed in, not only do they look classic, but they cascade the perfect amount of lighting around a room. If a classic chandelier does not tie in with your style, then why not opt for a modern twist on the classic? Our 5 Wire Pendants create the same focal point as chandeliers, but are adaptable, meaning you can select the shades to go with them as well as adjusting them to different heights. There is no limit to what you can do with these modern-esque pendants, like wrapping them around a pole like the kitchen interior below!
